Lemanda E. Lea papers, 1858-1872.

Papers consist of correspondence and printed items. Correspondence includes letters from her mother, Sarah Sandell of Pike County, Mississippi and letters from camps in Mississippi and Louisiana written by her husband, I. G. Lea, her brothers, C. J. and W. G. Martin, describing conditions in camp, fortifications, plans for attack, and some information concerning the surrounding countryside. Printed items include a speech by the Hon. Thomas R. Stockdale of Mississippi (1890), minutes of the Union Baptist Association (1896-1890), and Reminiscences of a Confederate Prisoner, Scott's Cavalry by Byron Smith.
